$$$-$$$$, French, Le François
Fodor's Review:
To really experience this place, start with a cocktail in the super-chic bar lined with black-and-white photographs. The glasses have slanted bottoms, giving everything an off-kilter feel, and a simple 'ti punch gets an elaborate presentation. Le Béleme is the special-occasion restaurant for well-heeled residents who enjoy innovative cuisine served in a contemporary setting. Alas, it is not inexpensive, but the complimentary amuse-bouche (literally, "mouth amuser") may save you an appetizer, although the lobster ravioli is luscious. The tatin de foie gras and caramelized green bananas with a shallot-and-lime confit can be had with 24 hours' notice. The menu changes seasonally and features such creations as roast guinea hen with foie gras and morrel mushrooms, dramatically presented by a bevy of servers. Lunch (here or at the beach restaurant), although less glamorous, is still a treat, and provides a more affordable alternative.
