Sepia-tone lithographs of old St-Pierre adorn the walls of this gourmet restaurant with a panoramic view of Fort-de-France. The prix-fixe meals can be an especially good value, but the most intriguing dishes are à la carte, which are rather pricey. Christophene soup with lobster cubes, avocado sorbet with a tomato and basil coulis, and ravioli with foie gras are all excellent starters. Main courses include a cassoulet of scallops, shrimp, and lobster tails with grilled local pleurotte mushrooms. A lamb fillet with a rich jus enhanced with Indian spices is accompanied by flans made with local vegetables. Ask about the specially priced wine of the month. You can finish with a stogie from la cave à cigares out on the deck.
