This working plantation east of town teaches about Jamaica's agricultural heritage, but it's not just for history lovers. Everyone enjoys the views over the White River Gorge; a tour in a tractor-pulled cart; grounds full of exotic flowers and tropical trees, some planted by such celebrities as Winston Churchill and Charlie Chaplin; and a small aviary with free-flying butterflies. You can saddle up for horseback rides and camel safaris on the plantation's 900 acres, but times are usually geared toward cruise-ship schedules. There's also a Segway tour, and you can take a lesson in cooking Jamaican style. Tour prices vary.
