Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon Review

Though the beach is small, this large lagoon has to be seen to be believed. The cool, spring-fed waters cry out to swimmers and are a real contrast to the warmer sea waters. Floating docks encourage you to sun a little, or you can lie out on the small beach. Just how deep is the Blue Lagoon? You might hear it's bottomless (Jacques Cousteau verified that it is not), but the lagoon has been measured at a depth of 180 feet. At present, tour operators offer admission as part of their Port Antonio tours, and freelance operators at the gates sometimes offer entry, but for current (and official) conditions call the Jamaica Tourist Board. Amenities: none. Best for: swimming.
