Fodor's Review

The most upscale of the three adjacent Iberostar resorts, this property further differentiates itself with its adults-only policy. The all-inclusive also provides butler service and a level of exclusivity; guests from the other two properties may not use the Grand Hotel's facilities although Grand Hotel guests may dine and play at both the Beach Hotel and Rose Hall suites.

Returning for 3rd year! We love this place!

We discovered Rose Hall Grand 4 years ago and we are hooked! We even visited Iberostar in Playa del Carmen last year and have decided to return to Rose Hall Grand. The staff is amazing, the rooms are spectacular, and the food is very GOOD!!!! We even had one of he chefs prepare authentic Jamaican dishes for us and our group. I have never been to a resort where I have felt so welcomed and every time we visit, they say "Welcome Home!". You will

not disappointed in our stay.

Nice room, fun beach activities, awful food

We booked this trip on a whim, last minute, to join a few couples who were already going. We didn't do any research, but were assured by the group that it was a top notch resort, free of kids (Grand Rose Hall had no kids but the adjacent hotel did). The hotel was beautiful, it was a short ride from the airport. We were welcomed with a glass of champagne, and had our room upgraded with out asking because all the other couples in our group were already

upgraded. The butler was fun, and congenial. We unpacked and enjoyed our balcony with two large outdoor couches, overlooking the clear ocean. There were fun activities on the beach all day long, one was an aerobics/dance class in the ocean, it looked docent lead but was fun to watch none the less. We participated in a little volley ball tournament, drinks in hand, and at night there was a great band performing in the sand. The staff was attentive, especially beach side. The only con I had was the food was terrible! We left the resort on the second day because we were starving, we ended up befriending our taxi driver, and paid him to take us to an off the beaten path kinda place. The best food we ate the whole time was out of a shack on the side of a road! The seafood at the resort was disgusting, anytime of day, lunch, snack, or dinner it all had the same smell, like horse stables. And the rest of the food was just as disappointing. We stocked up on bananas at breakfast and ate very little else. The resort it self is nice, for what it is. We wouldn't go back, there are too many other fun islands to explore.
