Sunset Beach Resort Review

Often packed with charter groups, this expansive resort can be a good value if you don't mind mass tourism. With one of Jamaica's best (and most-used) lobbies, a water park, a teen center, and excellent beaches on a peninsula jutting out into the bay, the facilities here help to redeem the motel-basic rooms. You can choose among five sandy coves (one clothing-optional) or, when it's time to take a break from the sun, hit the spa or slots-only casino. Although the rack rate is high, the resort runs a number of promotions throughout the year.

    one lie after another

I stayed here for 5 days in aug. with my three small children ages 9,8 and 6. Our first wo nights we had no air conditioning in our room. I dealt with three different maint. men and two different managers. They each gave me a different reason why the air was not working and promised to have me moved. Only once, was i offered an upgrade to a different room. When I accepted the upgrade in the late evening on my second night I was told it was not available. Even without the problems with the air this resort is not worth visiting. The check in is a very long, slow process. The lines for the food at the buffet and grill a also long and the food is not worth the wait. Most of the staff are rude and abrupt. I would not recommend this resort to anyone.
