This pioneer from the 1930s, a feet-in-the-sand bed-and-breakfast, has sling-back chairs on the beach. Amenities such as air-conditioning, satellite TV, phones, and in-room Wi-Fi have updated this simple six-room inn. The hotel retains some of its original French windows and doors, patterned tile floors, and a fieldstone bar. The beachfront creole restaurant is one of the island's best, and the only one with live entertainment. The weekend and longer packages are a good
value. Oualiri's owner, Theodore, an English-speaking tourism veteran, also has villas and apartments in St-François for short-term rental.
