This charismatic landmark inn, which draws mainly couples and families, was bought by a French couple who discovered the property while on vacation from their home in California. In the rooms, LED flat-screens with international channels have been added. With enviable hillside views overlooking the bay, the main building has the charm of decades past, with dormers and gingerbread fretwork. The lobby is painted in whimsical colors—white, avocado, mango, and chocolate on the window trim. The pool and deck, with its Euro-style furniture, is the hotel's center. It has admirable views of one of the "most beautiful bays in the world." A lovely Continental breakfast is served; for ham and eggs there's a supplement. Dinner here is one of the best options on-island. The hotel's driver can meet you at the ferry (no charge).
