Maca Bana Villas Review

Clustered on a 2-acre hillside overlooking mile-long Magazine Beach, each of Maca Bana's seven private villas (also called "banas") has a great view—of the white sand below, out to sea, up the coastline to pretty St. George's Harbour, and beyond toward cloud-capped mountains. Each 'bana is named for a tropical fruit, a theme that carries through to the decor. And each has a spacious verandah with a private massaging hot tub. This tiny boutique resort is truly green, with solar-powered water heaters as well as the verdant gardens studded with fruit trees, herbal plants, and koi ponds. A small but inviting infinity pool is open to all guests. Villas accommodate two to six people, but families with young children should be aware of the steep terrain. Roomy kitchens are fully equipped, including an espresso machine and groceries for your first breakfast. Would-be artists can sign up for lessons with noted artist Rebecca Thompson, the owner's wife. Or sign up for Grenadian cooking lessons with the Aquarium Restaurant chefs. Or perhaps a personal yoga or tai chi lesson on your own deck will do the trick.
