Isla Catalina

Fodor's Review:

Isla Catalina is a somewhat remote island with a beautiful white-sand beach about 10 mi from El Parque Nacional del Este) the national park (closer to Casa de Campo); many tours leave either from the dock at Altos de Chavón or from Bayahibe. Unmarred by manmade structures, Isla Catalina has the region's two most sought after dive sites, the Wall and the Aquarium. Snorkelers can sunbathe and then just walk into the water and out to the reef and see schools of tropical fish. The beach is a pleasure, and lunch here is often part of this tour.
