Fodor's Review

Older Americans may prefer this classier sister to the nearby Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach resort, though the more fun-loving Beach has a reputation for strong animation programs and sports, and attracts young Americans and Canadians as well as Italians. Non-guests sample what it has to offer by buying a day pass, which works from 10 am until 2 am. Palace guests can access the VIP Beach Club and the upscale Atlantis restaurant, which has a supplement. La Placita, modeled

after the central plazas in Italy, is where guests from both resorts socialize, stroll, drink, or take a cappuccino while listening to live music. Alas, Italian clients seem more satisfied than Anglos. The long expanse of beach boasts a blue-flag designation for unpolluted waters. Guest rooms are in blocks, and you will want a Superior category room that has been remodeled with flat-screen TVs installed.
