Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace Review

Older Americans may prefer this classier sister to the nearby Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach resort, though more more fun-loving Beach has a reputation for strong animation programs and sports, and attracts young Americans and Canadians as well as Italians. Many nonguests sample what it has to offer by buying either a day pass, which ends at 6 pm, or a night pass, which lasts until 2 am and gets you dinner and into the disco. Palace guests can access the VIP Beach Club; and the upscale Atlantis restaurant, which has a supplement. La Placita, modeled after the central plazas in Italy, is where guests from both resorts socialize, stroll, drink, or take a cappuccino while listening to live music. The long expanse of beach boasts a blue-flag designation for unpolluted waters. Guest rooms are in blocks, and you will want a Superior category rooms that has been remodeled with flat-screen TVs installed.

    Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace Review

    Just got back from a week stay at Wyndham Dominicus Beach. Nitemare.

    The Good:
    -The beach and water are beautiful.

    The Bad:
    -Brown stain on the sheets when we checked in. Sheets were never changed the whole week stay.
    -Staff in general; especially front desk were extremely rude and unprofessional
    -Jackhammering outside our room at 8am
    -Numerous Viva employees constantly hounding us to sit through some sort of presentation that was a "geat deal"
    -They blast loud techno music on the beach at all hours of the day.
    -I am of Itallian decent and I was shocked at how rude most of the itallian guests were. Lots of cutting in line at the buffet.
    -Two hour ride from Santo Domingo Airport to the resort through the ghettos. (Many dead dogs on the side of the road.)

    The Ugly:
    - My Girlfriend had $500 dollars stolen out of her locked bag in our room. We notified security who then went back to our room and went through all our bags. They did not beleive us and it took almost three hours to get one "I'm Sorry" We notified The American Embassy.

    Do yourself a favor... Stay far away from this place!
