Hotel El Magnifico Review

Coral-stone paths wind you around the exquisite tropical gardens of cactus and orchids at this serene luxury boutique condo-hotel just a gravel driveway from the dusty, noisy highway into town. The open reception area, backed by an artistic screen, is flanked by a quiet seating or "swinging" area (there's a comfy hammock) that whispers tranquillity. The lush gardens hold a pair each of pools and Jacuzzis. For your accommodations, try to get the newest Building 6, with beach and water views. The stonework surrounding it and the walkways to the warm, oceanfront Jacuzzi are eye popping. Further, the glow from the lanterns leading to the water makes it a fantasia. Gerhard Hebert, creator of "The Magnificent," is a charming French Canadian, an early surfer who arrived in 1984 and has a following.
