Ocean World Adventure Park

Ocean World Adventure Park Review

This multimillion-dollar aquatic park in Cofresí has marine and wildlife interactive programs, including dolphin and sea lion shows and encounters, a double-dolphin swim, a tropical reef aquarium, stingrays, shark tanks, a rain forest, and a Tiger Grotto inhabited by Bengal tigers. You don't have to come on a tour, but you must make advance reservations if you want to participate in one of the swims or encounters. For example, if you are brave enough for the shark encounter, you will feed them and touch them in the shark lagoon; the stingray encounter is included as well. If you're staying in the Puerto Plata or Cabarete area, ask at your hotel for tour schedules; if you are at nearby Lifestyle resorts, transfers are free. Children must be at least age six to do the dolphin encounter, and a photo lab and video service can capture the moment. A private beach, locker room, splashy marina, Las Vegas–style casino, and fine-dining restaurant make for a fascinating mix. The exhilarating (and expensive) double-dolphin swim will produce lifelong memories.
