Victoria's public spaces are filled with eye-catching Indo-Caribbean furnishings, including a Chinese bed in the lobby, where the reception desk is backed by two oversize zebra-print mirrors. Coral stone and travertine are seen throughout.Victoria's niche has been etched: couples, honeymooners, and golfers—the resort overlooks the golf club. While you can get a breakfast-only plan, you can go all-inclusive for just $20 more, so that makes more sense, especially since the buffet is better than the norm and service is super. Upstairs, the gourmet restaurant has been contemporized, and the adjacent Lotus Club serves as a cool, sophisticated lounge. A flashy boutique sells enticing jewelry and white resort wear. New is the spa suite where guests can enjoy massages and other services. Victoria's strip of sand has its own upgraded beach club with an à la carte menu; though the resort is not on the beach, you can get there in five minutes or less by fast shuttle. Weddings can be amazingly affordable here. Pros: Has a Cristal Certificate for food hygiene, two great pools, including a "chill" pool with a soothing cascade. Cons: Not on the beach, needs another stand-alone restaurant, might be too quiet for some.
