Castle Club

Updated 03/12/2014

Fodor's Review

A man's home is his castle. In this one, Doug Beers prepares creative dinners for guests who cross the foothills to enjoy this one-of-a-kind experience. His wife, Marguerite, is the gracious hostess who shows patrons their expansive mountain home and the artwork strategically positioned between the many open-air arches. Served on antique lace tablecloths strewn with bougainvillea, the well-orchestrated dinner might consist of canapés, Caribbean carrot soup, salad from

their organic garden, grouper with lobster sauce, and classic chocolate mousse. After dinner, Doug lights a fire and offers guests a liqueur to warm their interiors. You must make advance reservations.

Beautiful!!!!!

This place blew me away! The castle was enormous and it reminded me of a beautiful villa in the country side of Paris. The view from the top of the mountain was outstanding and the Host and Hostess were a delight. Also, the food was amazing. I could not have asked for a better way to spend my night, and I highly recommend the Castle Club to everyone in the area (or out of the area, I would travel far to go there again)

Highlight of my trip to the DR

I was lucky enough to go to the DR with friends who'd been there before and been referred to the Castle Club. We went for dinner on a Friday night, it was just our party of 6, Doug & Margaritte. It was an awesome time. Their house is BEAUTIFUL, their views are BEAUTIFUL, and the food was great. Yes the driveway is long and full of potholes but it wasn't my car that took the abuse, it was the taxi driver's. These folks are not commercial at all

- I commend their ability to make people from all over the world feel at home. The dinner and drinks there cost us LESS than the highway robbery along the beach in Cabarete. Get yourself a good local driver and get out there. We paid $30 RT for a driver from Cabarete.

the trip up the "mountain" was more than worth it.

It was a beautiful setting and I very much enjoyed my visit. I especially loved the soup, a warm orange color I think it was a ginger soup, my memory is not to great, if it's possible I would love to have that recipe so I could enjoy it once more to remember it like I was there again. Thankyou

Beyond the driveway from HELL

Once you have sucessfully traversed the driveway to this hilltop wonder you are in for a super treat. Doug and Margarette have opened thier magnificant 'work-in-progress' to a lucky few. The house, view and food are outdone only by thier hospitality.
