Miró’s is going back to its origins, both honoring its Spanish namesake with classic tapas and paellas, and to owner Lydia Wazana’s Moroccan roots, offering kebabs and tagines. You can almost hear the castenets when the Andalusian gazpacho, patatas bravas, and octopus à la Gallega arrive at your table. Authentic paellas (for two) can follow, even a combination of seafood and chicken and vegetarian. As Middle Eastern food is now in vogue, it shares the menu with the aromatic tagines, with vegetarian and vegan dishes. Lydia has also kept house faves (and mine) like Thai shrimp curry and beef tenderloin with three pepper cream sauce. This landmark restaurant is smack on the beach with its share of contemporary lounge furniture. Take a table on the sand and listen to the gentle jazz.
