Restaurant Hotelito Oasi
Restaurant Hotelito Oasi Review
Giordano Mettifogo is as good a chef as he is a photographer, which is how he made his living in his native Italy. After he "retired" to the Dominican Republic with his young Dominican bride, Eva, this caballero became a restaurateur and hotelier. Pastas are his specialty; while other restaurants may do a so-so carbonara, this is the real thing. Similarly, he makes his own gnocchi and authentic pizzas. A delicious sauce of fresh-peeled tomatoes with Italian olive oil arrives on fresh fish, and his octopus is marinated with the same fine oil and imported vinegar. Lambi in a tomato sauce with polenta is memorable; ask whether there are some lobsters to throw on the grill to go with the parsley butter sauce. Chicken Milanese is a delightful change, and there are great ice creams and lemon sorbet for dessert. Giordano's three children make this a real family affair. The delicious bread? Giordano's teenage daughter makes that. Dinner, served nightly, is open to the general public; breakfast and lunch service is only for hotel guests.
