El Museo de las Casas Reales

El Museo de las Casas Reales Review

This is a remarkable museum that will help you comprehend the discovery of the New World by Christopher Columbus and the entire 16th-century epic. Housing Taino finds, colonial artifacts, coins salvaged from wrecks of Spanish galleons, authentic colonial furnishings, as well as a collection of weapons, the museum also has one of the handsomest colonial edifices in the Zone. Built in the Renaissance style, it was the seat of Spanish government, housing the governor's office and the Royal Court. It has beautiful windows, for example, done in the Plateresque style. A frequent wedding venue, it also functions as an art gallery, with rotating shows. When candlelit at night, it's truly magical.
