Fodor's Review

This fine-dining enclave has the setting—Spanish-colonial architecture, with pillars and archways overlooking a courtyard—but with the classically grounded French chef, Dominique David, serving remarkably innovative cuisine, it has really grown into a destination restaurant. An amuse-bouche arrives before your meal, and there is an excellent bread service. Available for lunch and dinner, the three-course daily Menu de Chef is about $26, including tax. It could feature

brochettes of spit-roasted duck, chicken au poivre, or vegetable risotto. Veer from this menu, and prices go higher, but they remain fair. A luscious foie gras parfait with a port wine velouté and house-made brioche will start you on your way; segue to grilled scallop skewers with a strong passion fruit jus and spinach tagliatelle. For a finale, we suggest the strawberry soup with basil and mint infusion. Musicians romantically serenade diners except on Jazzy Thursdays when they are close by, at the pool.
