When you leave this little Hernando's Hideaway, the caring staff will say, "Why so soon?" The art deco-style lobby makes clever use of blue objets d'art, as does the high-tech Internet center. Rooms have white-gauze canopies on king-size beds; an all-white honeymoon suite has a Jacuzzi. Splurge for a suite or a superior room (though even those have tight bathrooms), rather than a subterranean standard. Sit out on your balcony and wave to the neighbors. On Friday nights a Mexican fiesta takes place on the side terrace, with dancers, tequila action, and karaoke. Pros: Friendly staff, well-managed and efficient. Cons: Small bathrooms, standard rooms not on par with others, subsequent renovated buildings have been done better.
