In Santiago you can find a sophisticated city hotel and, near the airport, a recommendable American chain hotel. A restaurant cum hotel in an upscale suburb is of a better quality than most of the other properties in town, where the pickings are otherwise slim. In the nearby mountain towns of Jarabacoha, Constanza, and Valle Nuevo, one can really have a relaxing getaway in rustic lodges with fireplaces to take off the chill.
