Getting Here and Around

To reach Las Galeras, continue past Samaná town on the only road along the southern coast, Highway 5, for about an hour, depending on the road conditions. At this writing, the entire road to Las Galeras was being redone, which may cut the travel time in the future. (By the way, the main reason for the lack of development of the northwest corner of the peninsula may have been the woeful state of this road.)
