This small resort exemplifies the evolution of Cabarete since the late 1990s. Starting life as a cheap haunt for young board boys (guests enjoy complimentary water sports at the Bic Center across the road), it's evolved, offering larger and more attractive condos, a coral-stone pool, and a restaurant with Wi-Fi that consequently attracts laptoppers. The crowd has shifted to couples, mostly baby boomers. There is still a fun quotient here, although units are showing some wear. If, as with the new Caberete crowd, your taste is more upscale, the Canadian owner, Gordon, is proud to show you Ocean Point, a three-story oceanfront complex designed in a tropical Asian style.
