Villa Serena

Fodor's Review:

Villa Serena, a small, romantic hideaway on the coast of Las Galeras, in Samaná, has an intimate and tranquil atmosphere for which it has been loved by lovers. The restaurant is seemingly made for honeymooners (there are packages) and has a menu for half-boarders (those who pay extra to have breakfast and dinner included) and a supplemental gourmet menu. Each room has a different theme and there are big four-poster beds of bamboo, and private balconies facing the sea. Overhead fans move the sea breezes. Rates include an American à la carte breakfast with homemade breads, marmalade, and fresh juice, but choose to pay for the half-board supplement, since the inn is secluded.

  • In-room: no a/c, no phone, no TV.
  • In-hotel: restaurant, room service, bar, pool, beachfront.
