As the Spanish music crescendos, it's as if the vintage flamenco poster girls come to life. This sidewalk café is a replica of a Spanish tapas bar created by the dueña, Monika, formerly a marketing exec in Madrid, who now cooks and waits tables. Her high-energy, vivacious personality, the café's beach-alley location, and particularly its affordability, make this a new Cabarete fave. Come with a group and order the gamut: a pink, blended gazpacho; avocados stuffed with shrimp; the tortilla of eggs, potatoes and peppers; meatballs in spicy tomato sauce; and Manchego cheese with Serrano ham. For the sweet tooths, there is a pudding of dulce de leche.
