Fodor's Review:
Certain aspects of this Princess make you open your eyes wide and sing, "Am I only dreaming?" The endless pool is one, with its palm-studded islets and its swim-up bar; the elegant lobby with lush tropical plants and white pillars is another. And there is the romantic Chopin restaurant, set in the jungle, where classical music replaces the usual local boom boom. This is one resort where advancing to the higher levels is worth the charge. Be Queen for the Day and marry in the white-domed rotunda with the azure sea as your photographic backdrop -- it's included in the fabulous Magical and Royalty packages. Sister properties are Punta Cana Princess, Caribe Club Princess, and Tropical Princess.

Not What We Expected

We went to Bavaro Princess expecting a true, all-inclusive experience. Definitely not. Service is average at best, and usually poor. We've had better food on a cruise ship buffet than we had in the "gourmet" restaurant. All in all, it seemed like no one cared whether we were happy or not, but they were sure glad to take our money. We had read the mixed reviews online before we went. We thought a lot of the negative reviews were from people who either didn't speak Spanish (and it does come in handy) or who were expecting American fare. My wife is fluent in Spanish and we knew it wasn't going to be American food. But salamanders in our room, bugs in our pillows, and daily room service that never got our orders correct is not 5-star service. We give it 2 stars. The absolute best part? The beach and the weather. Princess Resorts couldn't mess those up.
