Italian fashion designer Piergorgio realized that his romantic, Victorianesque inn, with its wraparound verandah and intricate fretwork, had to evolve if it was to keep up with his newer, all-inclusive neighbors. He introduced new drapes and comforters from Europe to update the decor and added six new spacious rooms and one suite cliff-side. (Ask for the #500s). The hotel's location is superlative for weddings -- the gazebo has breathtaking bay views, as does the pizzeria (with the wood-burning oven) and the main Italian restaurant. Honeymooners love its romanticism, fostered by the charming, strolling guitarist. The two penthouses have glorious views from their private terraces, though the furnishings are dated. The ladies find the hotel's boutique, stocked with Italian fashions, enticing.
