$-$$, North Coast
Fodor's Review:
Victoria has had a major face-lift -- a total, amazing, multimillon-dollar redo of the spacious rooms and public spaces, including Indo-Caribbean furnishings, marble bathrooms, and an enlarged lobby with a long concierge desk backed by two oversized mirrors. The buffet has been extended and enhanced with ceramics, and the food is excellent. Upstairs, the gourmet room has been contemporized. The Lotus Club serves as a cool, sophisticated lounge. Coral stone and travertine are seen throughout. The nearby beach club and its offerings have also been upgraded. Victoria's niche has been etched: couples, honeymooners, and golfers. There is a breakfast-only plan but for a mere $20 more it makes sense to go all-inclusive. Weddings can be amazingly affordable here.
