Isla Saona

Fodor's Review:

Off the east coast of Hispaniola lies this island, now a national park inhabited by sea turtles, pigeons, and other wildlife. Caves here were once used by Indians. The beaches are beautiful, and legend has it that Columbus once strayed ashore here. Getting here, on catamarans and other excursion boats, is half the fun, but know that it can be a crowd scene.
