$-$$, Seafood, Boca Chica
Fodor's Review:
Begin with a mango daiquiri while you watch the sun drop behind the pier that extends into gin-clear water. Let a spicy ceviche jump-start your taste buds. Regulars know to order the shellfish casserole, the paella, and the garlicky grilled lobster. Admittedly, the fare is not as good as it was previously and fried food was recently overcooked and too salty, but the upgraded surroundings and service still make it a Boca Chica fave. Avoid Sunday afternoons when it is packed with families. Fifteen minutes from Las Americas Airport, this is an ideal place to endure a long layover. Enjoy your lunch, swim in the sea, sleep in the sun, and then shower in the clean locker rooms. Take a hazelnut piña colada in a plastic to-go cup, and wave good-bye.
