This relatively new, moderately priced branch of the AMResorts family—which welcomes children—has style as well as a gorgeous 700-yard beachfront. The lobby's contemporary interior design is fresh and vibrant with attention-getting details such as shell room dividers. When the kids get enough sun, send them off to the Explorers Club, teens to the Core Zone. Parents can then enjoy the stunning Spa by Pevonia, working out in the fitness center, or taking a Zumba class.
Cuisine options are many as there are eight restaurants of varying levels, all reservation-free. The Preferred Club is a reasonable bump-up, but upgrading is not as necessary as in some resorts. The contemporary hors d’oeuvres and high-end liquor in the Club lounge could be the deal breaker. Also some guests do feel that standard rooms are too basic and most everyone who didn’t have a water view room wished they had. Inquire about the Dine Around Program, where you can have privileges at partner resorts in the area.
