Fodor's Review

You dine here beneath a palapa-shaded table on a pier that sits over the Caribbean's gentle waters—truly a paradisical island experience. The restaurant's own small fleet of fishing boats harvests the waters daily for fresh catch, which are among the most popular menu items, though other specialties come from around the world. The menu offers everything from ceviche to Asian calamari rolls with sweet-and-spicy chili sauce and cilantro to Caribbean lobster cakes. Healthful, vegetarian, or vegan offerings are flagged. Lunch offerings have such innovations as wasabi or spicy chipotle mayonnaise. Some may think the portions are small but on the all-inclusive plan you can order as much as you like. Service is caring and attentive. The blue Euro-tiles around the fireplace at the bar add an unexpected, decorative element. Non-hotel guests must have a reservation to pass through security. Lobster and other high-ticket seafood items do come with a supplement if you have the Sanctuary Cap Cana AI plan.
