Punta Cana Top 5

Punta Cana Top 5

Sun, sand & sea. Sinking your toes in the cool sand at water's edge and soaking up the sun as you watch the white-capped tide roll in. Punta Cana has a well-deserved reputation for having some of the best beaches in the Caribbean.

Great golf. Punta Cana is quickly becoming a destination of choice for serious golfers. Playing a round at any of the area's renowned golf courses—for example, La Cana or Punta Espada—is a worthy endeavor for your family's golf fanatic.

Vibrant music & dance. Taking a merengue or bachata lesson and hitting the dance floor at your resort's disco or at a local club like Montecristo. The nightlife doesn't get any better than at Pacha, in Bávaro's Riu resort complex.

Natural landscape. Exploring the regional flora and fauna, the sugarcane fields and the country lifestyle on any of the popular guided safari jeep tours can be a fun day for families. Just be aware that some companies keep the rum flowing during these trips; so be sure to ask if a particular excursion is family-friendly.

Activities enhanced by your surroundings. Horseback riding along the beach, especially on the night of a full moon, is a special experience.
