Among the luxury all-inclusive crowd, this is the big buzz -- and justifiably so. It's a showstopper and a new member of Leading Hotels of the World. The average suite, with flat-screen TV, CD player, and semi-open marble bathroom with jet showers and a Jacuzzi for two, is quite remarkable. You don't necessarily have to upgrade any further, unless you're on your honeymoon, simply must have an ocean view, or want a family concierge luxury suite. The resort is huge and sprawling; the restaurants are centered around a central plaza where they stage the best possible Dominican theme nights. The interior design for each restaurant exceeds all expectations and indeed, as you'll find in the Mediterranean room, outshines the food. Service is admirable; if they say 30 minutes for room service, it happens. The resort's unique outdoor ecospa and Zen Garden are wonderful worlds.

The Fodor description is a bit over the top, but this is a great hotel. We visited a few times now. The food is ok, but good I suppose by DR standards. service is very good but sloppy sometimes - again, DR standard! Great beach, pool and pool area loungers. The lobby and restaurants are attractive. Compared with other DR all-inclusive hotels, this is streets ahead and I'd certainly use it again
