$-$$, Japanese, North Coast
Fodor's Review:
With geometric plate presentation as aesthetically pleasing as a Japanese garden, this new sushi restaurant could go up against its counterparts in Tokyo. An architect who has lived in Japan created all of the woodwork and settees, which are lined with red and orange pillows. The black-and-white modern art and the "chill" music are the backdrop for beautifully executed, classic sashimi and sushi, as well as some creations that include shrimp tempura rolls. Clad in a black kimono, the executive chef, who oversees the kitchen, was trained by the legendary Nobu. On any given night, dessert might be a mound of green tea ice cream capped with succulent lychees.
