Fodor's Review:

You sit at long tables with a disparate group of strangers from at least three different countries, surrounded by bullrushes poking up from a lagoon. You can have a good feed for around 10 bucks. Try grilled, sweet barbecued ribs with fries, seafood with a Dominican salad and a baked potato, or the house special churrasco -- and always there's a shooter of mamajuana. The German owner, Ali, has designated Saturday as Sushi Night. The palapa roof gives the terrace shelter, and the wood-burning oven means flavorful pizza, but best douse yourself with mosquito repellent. You can call to make reservations, and you should if you have a large group.

Best atmosphere in town

Posted by Jim from Netherlands on 12/28/05

Ali's restaurant has by far the best and most social atmosphere in town. Meet kite, wind or wave surfers from all over the world when you sit down next to them on long tables. The food is good, the atmosphere has a carobbean feel and service is also good.
