$$-$$$, Caribbean, Punta Cana
Fodor's Review:
This elegant dining room in the country's most sophisticated resort clubhouse was decorated by Oscar de la Renta. The tableware is so chic and colorful -- with geometric plates -- that it makes the food, already stellar, taste even better. The new Belgian chef has kept, if not elevated, the gastronomic level. Begin the feast of the senses with sea bass and crab meat cakes with mango chutney. Then follow with a quality main course. Our suggestion: the pork tenderloin confit atop a yucca cake with cherries; however, the lobster tempura over glazed pumpkin with spinach sauce is very tempting. The intelligent wine list complements the cuisine. An afterthought? Try the almond biscuit with chocolate sauce over caramelized pineapple.
