Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa & Casino Review

Guest rooms here are tucked in restored 18th-century houses built along pebble-stone alleyways that diverge from a central courtyard. The pools and gardens are exquisite, especially at night, when lighting casts a romantic glow. Each room is uniquely decorated with Indian and Indonesian fabrics and furnishings; in-room perks include turndown service, robes, Aveda toiletries, and CD players. The opulent Indian-style Bridal Suite is a work of art, with marble floors, hammered sterling-silver furniture, and a large plasma TV. The only drawback is a lack of beachfront, but free shuttles will take you to a nearby private beach club or to the more remote Lodge Kura Hulanda & Beach Club. The revitalized Otrobanda neighborhood also has great dining within walking distance, and you're a stone's throw from the footbridge to cross over to the Punda side for more shopping and sightseeing. The museum and excellent restaurants are worth a visit even if you don't stay here.
