Emergencies

There are hospitals and pharmacies in Matanzas, Nueva Gerona, the Península de Zapata, Pinar del Río, Varadero, and Viñales. For scuba-diving emergencies, the Hospital Julio María Aristegui Villamil in Cárdenas has a decompression chamber in its Centro Médico Sub Acuática. The María la Gorda International Dive Center also has hyperbaric chambers.
