Vega Robaina
Vega Robaina Review
Don Alejandro Robaina has become a celebrity since 1997, when his Vega Robaina cigar label was launched. He credits his acclaimed tobacco leaves to the Atlantic freshness of the Vuelta Abajo microclimate, the limestone soil, and the know-how acquired over six generations. Don Alejando welcomes visitors interested in learning more about the cultivation of tobacco. To find Vega Robaina, take the main road west from Pinar del Río 12 km (7 mi) to the left turn for San Luis. Turn left again 3 km (2 km) later at the "vietnam heroico" sign. The next few roads are dirt: take the first left, the first right, the next right at the tiny Iglesia de Dios and continue for a kilometer to a black barn, where a left will take you right up to Don Alejandro's place.
