Tropicana Review

Tropicana is still Havana's most famous floor show, under the direction of Tomas Morales, in a district just south of Miramar. Reserve a table (this place fills up fast), which comes with a bucket of ice for your bottle of Havana Club, and you're set for the night. More than 200 gorgeous dancers picked from Cuba's many dance troupes are guaranteed to get your attention. The cover of 70-90 cuc per person, depending on seating and including one drink) is astronomical for Cuba, but the lush, outdoor venue is unforgettable. The performance includes an array of vignettes, with the dancers adorned in sometimes wild, elaborate costumes including fruity-colored feathers and headgear, and passionate music and dance reminiscent of the old world that once existed on the island. Shows are held daily at 9:30 pm, and when they finish, the place becomes a disco.
