Popular with divers, this well-run resort, entirely rebuilt from the ground up (including a new pool and dining room), features a beautiful sandy beach shaded by sea grape trees. The dock is illuminated nightly, attracting stingrays, tarpon, and other creatures to entertain you on your after-dinner stroll. The motel-style rooms are simple but spotless. The second-floor and end units (118-121, 219-221) offer the best views; 10 junior suites include microwave and fridge. The buffet-style food is surprisingly good: killer peppery conch chowder, silken lobster bisque, scrumptious garlic bread, live carving station, and plentiful choices like mahimahi with mushroom demi-glace. The crowd tends to be older, with a handful of honeymooners thrown in and a few small meetings and vacationing families in summer. Pros: lovely beach; great dive outfit; friendly staff and clientele; free Wi-Fi in public areas. Cons: noise from planes; fresh but basic decor., Mimi Crume, Director of Communications, DPS Development (which operates the resort), late May 2009, 646/291-8765
