This property received a needed face-lift in 2006; soft, warm colors throughout its public spaces enhance its appeal. The airy, marble lobby has a vaulted ceiling and opens onto a lovely lush, tropical courtyard and turtle lagoon. Large adjoining rooms are ideal for families; all have balconies, hardwood furniture, handsome abstract artworks, and smallish bathrooms. The beach, pool, beach bar, and dive center with water toys fills every waterside need. Add a serene spa, clever man-made reef, and good restaurants, and you never need leave the property. When you do, it's a short walk to more restaurants and stores. Pros: great cocktails and lively bar scene; good snorkeling; surprisingly good food; convenient to both George Town and Seven Mile Beach. Cons: impersonal; often overrun by tour groups and conventioneers; narrowest section of Seven Mile Beach.

I enjoyed my stay here, but wanted to warn future visitors: you are charged for everything here. Wi-fi is a charge on daily basis, and computers downstairs in the lobby are even a charge by the hour! Local calls are >$1.50, and even got charged for calling 1-800 number to use my calling card! Drinks on the beach were good, but one pina colada was >$10 with gratuity automatically included (and it was less than 12oz.). Just be ready for the incidentals...
