The soaring, stylish, if impersonal marble lobby (with exquisite art glass, spectacular blown-up underwater photos, and fun elements such as red British-style telephone boxes) sets the tone for this bustling beachfront property. Large adjoining rooms are ideal for families; all have tiny balconies, hardwood furniture, handsome abstract artworks, pullout sofas, and smallish bathrooms. Soft goods are regularly refurbished; recent upgrades include iPod docks. The beach, pool,
beach bar, and Red Sail dive center with water toys fills every nautical need. Add a serene spa, lovely lush tropical courtyard and turtle lagoon, clever man-made reef, and solid restaurants, and you never need leave the property (despite the on-site car rental agency). When you do, it's a short walk to more restaurants and stores.

Great staff! Our family loved the food at Solana restaurant (all inclusive meal package) and restaurant overlooking sunsets at night-Very pricy , but good food. Take out fast food nearby if you do not do meal plan, and many other restaurants to try. We loved the meal plan after having them on other islands-this was good food...leisurely. Great beach with snorkeling right off it,gorgeous blue water, and a small unfancy pool, but nice. Great dive staff
and opportunities to go to snorkle and dive from hotel. Rooms big and airy. Would have liked water view, and ours faced another hotel, but we still loved hotel, lobby, turle pond, etc. Lots of places to read and avoid the sun. Exercise room. Need game room(ping pong, more lights by the pool to swim at night, and one enclosed small bar with dancing, but lovely grounds, food, staff-would stay there again. Our 20 year old kids had a good time, and nearby local hang outs that are safe for kids their age.

I enjoyed my stay here, but wanted to warn future visitors: you are charged for everything here. Wi-fi is a charge on daily basis, and computers downstairs in the lobby are even a charge by the hour! Local calls are >$1.50, and even got charged for calling 1-800 number to use my calling card! Drinks on the beach were good, but one pina colada was >$10 with gratuity automatically included (and it was less than 12oz.). Just be ready for the incidentals...
