Sandcastle

Fodor's Review:

This six-cottage hideaway sits on a half-mile stretch of white-sand beach shared by a half-dozen beach bars and restaurants. The peach-color cottages are simply furnished. Two-bedroom cottages have outdoor showers and no air-conditioning, but the one-bedroom cottages do have these conveniences. Either way, the Caribbean is no more than 20 feet from your doorstep. There's nothing to do here except relax in a hammock, read, walk the beach, swim, and snorkel. Unfortunately, you may find your serenity shattered between 11 AM and 3 PM by the charter-boat day-trippers who arrive on large catamarans for lunch and drinks at the Soggy Dollar Bar. At night, tuck into a casually elegant, four-course candlelight dinner at the Sandcastle Restaurant. For weeklong stays you have the option of a package that includes all breakfasts and most dinners. Pros: Beachfront rooms, near restaurants and bars, comfy hammocks. Cons: Some rooms lack air-conditioning, beach sometimes clogged with day-trippers.
