This mustard-color building was the manor house of an aloe plantation in the 19th century. The site was named for the karpata (castor bean) plants that are abundant in the area—you can see them along the sides of the road as you approach. Notice the rounded outdoor oven where aloe was boiled down before the juice was exported. The hand-crafted coral floor is quite a sight. There is a stand that sells beverages during high season.
