Getting to Bonaire: Most flights from the U.S. connect in San Juan, Montego Bay, or Aruba. If you want to connect through Aruba, you'll more likely than not have to book your flight directly with an island-based airline. Bonaire's Flamingo Airport (BON) is tiny but welcoming (the KLM 747 almost dwarfs the airport when it lands).

Hassle Factor: Medium to high.

Nonstops: The only nonstops are from New York-Newark, New York-JFK, Houston, Miami, and Atlanta.
