Way off the main tourist trail in a quiet corner of St. David's, the Black Horse is a dark horse, or at least a well-kept local secret. Its beer garden overlooks a picturesque bay dotted with fishing boats and tiny islands. This is a great place for island originals: fish chowder and curried conch stew with rice are favorites, as are the straightforward renderings of amberjack, rockfish, shark, tuna, wahoo, and Bermuda lobster. If deep-fried doesn't suit your taste buds,
be sure to request your meal be cooked the way you like.
