This newly renovated restaurant will automatically make you feel at home with its warm and welcoming decor. There's plenty of room to enjoy a night on the town with a champagne lounge, a dining area, and the terrace overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, perfect for watching a sunset while listening to the tree frogs. The Bermudian cuisine has a Mediterranean feel to it with lots of fish and lobster when in season. From the mouthwatering menu, you can choose homemade pasta and risotto, fresh Bermuda wahoo or rockfish, Angus beef sirloin, or rack of lamb. Round off your evening with a delicious dessert such as baked lemon tart, chocolate molten cake, and homemade ice cream and sorbet. Italian owner Angelo Buglione is well known on the local restaurant scene having cooked up a storm at the island's restaurants for 21 years.

Splendido is anything but. Decked out in shabby chic decor, the hard metal edges of the patio table legs peek out from the cloth skirts inside the high priced dining room. Waiter's English frequently incomprehensible. Both mine and adjacent diner's main course under or overcooked. I've been drinking Riesling for years. All they had was full size, over-priced bottle. Once they open it (awful stuff), you get to pay the big tab even if you just have a sip. Went for creme brulee. This one topped by unsavory marinated dates. Go to Front St.

This restaurant has a spectacular ocean view perched up on a hill overlooking the Elbow Beach. It is a formal restaurant in the evenings, but at lunch is more casual.
My companion and I arrived for lunch soaked to the skin by an unanticipated heavy rain. We were seated graciously by a young Nepalese waiter, Raj. We ordered a lobster BLT (probably one of the best sandwiches on the planet) and mushroom soup and a risotto accompanied by an excellent albeit pricey ($14 a glass) prosecco and followed by a signature chocolate souffle. The service was polished and friendly and the food was excellent.
We enjoyed a chance to talk to our waiter before other patrons arrived. He was a fascinating young guy with a great attitude.
I highly recommend Splendido.
