The first thing you notice is the color: pea green. It takes your eyes a minute to adjust to the grand colonial-style house, built around the turn of the 20th century, and its newer wing. But then you see the order that's kept here: spotless grounds, with notes of hung flower pots, an inviting pool surrounded by lush greenery, and handsome simple and clean rooms, all with private balconies. Central Hamilton is a short 10-minute walk downhill. French country-style furniture, small flat-screen TVs, and lots of bright florals fill the guest and common rooms. PROS: nice pool, well maintained, clean rooms. CONS: not a leisure destination, no beach.
